When I bought the home:
The kitchen was closed off by a tiny door entry, from the dining room. The appliances were about 30 years old, there was no gas line to the stove, the ceiling had a florescent light box, the pantry was a former entryway coat closet (opening was reversed) and the wallpaper and curtains matched.
The Plan:
Replace the appliances, add a gas line to the stove area, add a water line to the fridge, add more outlets for the counter tops, replace the cabinets and counters, add a backsplash, replace the windows and doors, remove the wallpaper and re-texture the walls, find a way to hide the microwave inside the cabinets, add recessed lights, raise the ceiling to the top of the electrical light box, paint the walls and ceiling, open the wall to the dining room, and replace the floor.
